Astor's Notes

Jill Bennett

Date: 7th September 1978
Theatre: Chichester
Production: The Aspern Papers
Character: Tina
Review: Played this spinster with a lot of depth and great feeling. Her rather unusual features helped to gain sympathy for this pathetic creature. 5’6″, late 40s, slim, fair haired.
Date: 6th September 1979
Theatre: Chichester
Production: The Man Who Came to Dinner
Character: Maggie
Review: As the long-suffering secretary of the man of the title, quite well-felt perfomance, but her poor American accent seemed to affect her faster speeches to make some words lost. Physically well cast with her rather strange sad looks. Slim, about 5’6″, mid 40s.
Date: 21st March 1981
Theatre: Nottingham
Production: The Little Foxes
Character: Regina
Review: She really cannot handle American parts and this southern accent totally evaded her. With this giant drawback she had nothing really going for her although she wore the costumes well enough. About 5’7″, blonde, slim, late 40s.
